How to add a property for screening

Create a unit to represent a rental, since Burnt does not publish public listings.

Burnt does not publish public rental listings. Instead, you create a unit to represent the rental you are filling. The unit holds your screening criteria and the invite link applicants use to apply.

Steps

  1. From your dashboard, select [Units].
  2. Select [Create unit].
  3. Enter the rental address and monthly rent, along with any other required fields.
  4. Attach a rule set to define which checks are required and the fee, or create a new one. See How to configure your screening criteria.
  5. Save the unit. An invite link is generated that applicants use to apply.

Good to know

  • The invite link belongs to the unit, so the same link can be shared with several prospective renters.
  • To stop accepting applications, close or archive the unit.
