How to invite an applicant

Share a unit invite link or send an invitation from Burnt to start an application.

Applicants begin by opening the invite link for a unit. You can share the link directly, or send it from within Burnt.

Option 1: Share the invite link

  1. Open the unit you are filling.
  2. Copy the invite link. See Generating and sharing the invite link.
  3. Send the link to the prospective renter by your own email or messaging.

Anyone who opens the link starts an application for that unit.

Option 2: Send an invite from Burnt

  1. Open the unit.
  2. Select [Invite applicant].
  3. Enter the applicant name and email [confirm required fields].
  4. Send the invite. The applicant receives a message with a link to begin.

Inviting more than one person

A single application can include more than one person. When you invite, or when the applicant applies, you can add a co-applicant, co-tenant, co-signer, or guarantor. Each person completes their own verification steps. See Inviting co-applicants, co-tenants, co-signers, and guarantors.

After the invite

You can track progress from the unit or from your dashboard. You will be able to see when each person has started and completed their steps. To review results, see How to read a screening report.
