How to complete ID verification

What you need and the steps to verify your identity, plus what to do if it does not pass.

Identity verification confirms that you are who you say you are. This protects you and the property against fraud, and it is required before your other results can be shared.

What you will need

  • A valid, government issued identification document, for example a driver license, state identification card, or passport.
  • A device with a camera, if a live photo is required.


Steps

  1. When you reach the identity step, follow the prompt to photograph or upload your document.
  2. Complete any live photo step, holding your device steady and using good lighting.
  3. Wait a moment for the result. Most checks complete quickly.

If verification does not pass

Make sure the document is current, the full document is inside the frame, and the images are not blurry, then try again. If it still does not pass, see I cannot complete a verification step.
