# How to approve an application

## Review the results and record an approval on the application.

When you are ready to move forward with an applicant, you record an approval on the application.

**Steps**

1. Open the completed screening and review the six checks and the affordability result. See *How to read a screening report*.
2. Select the option to approve.
3. The decision is recorded on the application.

**Good to know**

- Apply your criteria consistently across applicants.
- Approving in Burnt records your screening decision. Any lease or move in steps happen outside Burnt, since Burnt does not offer lease management.
