Completing each verification step
A walkthrough of each verification step, from identity through background and eviction.
This article walks through each step of the screening. You complete them in order, and your progress is saved as you go.
Verifying your identity
You will be asked to provide a government identification document and to confirm your identity. This protects you and the property against fraud. Have your document ready and follow the prompts.
Verifying your income
You will confirm your income so the property manager can assess affordability. Your income information is used only for the screening.
Verifying your employment
You will confirm your current employment.
The credit check
The screening includes a credit check.
The property sees the results as part of your screening. The credit check is provided through a consumer credit source.
The background and eviction check
The screening reviews background records and prior eviction records where available. You do not need to do anything beyond completing your earlier steps.
Adding others to your application
If more than one person will be on the lease, or if you are using a co-signer or guarantor, you can add them during the application. Each person completes their own steps. See Adding a co-applicant, co-signer, or guarantor.
